You’re Booked In

You’re booked in! So what happens now?

A great big thank you again for choosing to book me to capture your special day. It’s going to be an amazing day and we’ll have a great time, capturing moments so that you can relive them forever. This page gives you an idea of what to expect now you have confirmed your booking and some little tips that will hopefully help you out with your planning so you can ensure you get the best images possible from your big day.

The time between now and the wedding…

Most couples, probably like yourselves, have booked with over a year to go before the wedding. (if you haven’t got so long don’t panic we can still get things done!) That means there will be some time until we see each other again to talk through the final plans. As discussed when we met final payment is due 4 weeks before the wedding. You will have received an invoice with the payment detail on.

If applicable, I’ll be in touch 2 weeks before this due date, to give you a little reminder that the balance will be due. We can also start looking at dates for a get together to talk through your final details. However, you don’t need to be a stranger in-between meeting times! Feel free to follow me on my Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter. That way you’ll be able to keep up with what’s happening with me.

Tell your family and friends…

Telling your family and friends isn’t a way to promote me (although I’m grateful if it does :)), but simply a way to educate them about my style of working. I am a documentary style wedding photographer and try to keep formal posed images to a minimum while the rest of the photos are natural, un-staged photos of you and your guests having an awesome time.

As soon as they know this is the way I work then they won’t be surprised when there isn’t hours and hours of posed images being done. I am sure we have all been to that wedding or event when the photos went on forever and everyone was getting really bored! That isn’t my style. My style is to capture the natural moments but allowing some time for formal shots that are important to you.

Details

Everyone puts so much effort into getting every detail looking amazing and obviously you will want images to capture this. I always say let me have 10 minutes in the main area once set up before anyone goes in and we can capture the decor, the favours, the cake and all those things you have been creating to make your wedding perfect for you.

On the day of the wedding…

By then we would have met and confirmed timings and arrangements for the day including arrival time and key moments through the day. (Should you need extra time on the night this can always be arranged).

Remember my style is documentary so I won’t be harassing people for maniacal smiles and awkwards poses I will just capture moments as they happen between you and your guests. I won’t leave before checking you are happy that I have covered what we agreed and grabbing a hug!

Couples Portraits

As I always say to my couples when I meet then, getting some time away from the guests and allowing you 20 minutes to just be yourselves together is always a great idea. This allows you to take a breath and chat about what you’ve just promised each other whilst I get some great shots of you both. A great time to relax and get some natural shots together. It is my favourite part of the day, but don’t worry, I just want you to be yourselves and to have a good time so that’s all we’ll do.

After the wedding…

After the wedding you will be enjoying the honeymoon and your first weeks of married bliss. I will be busy editing at my little desk with copious amounts of Earl Grey. I try to turn images round in 4-6 weeks depending on where we are in the wedding season. I love to put a sneak peek online as soon as I can which will usually appear on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. (let me know before the wedding if you prefer that I didn’t). Sometimes I’ll also put a blog on my website and include details of your wonderful day.

Before you receive your final products you will receive a link to an online gallery where you can look at all your images that I have edited from the day and also choose your favourites which will be delivered to you as high resolution digital downloads. Any purchased products such as albums, canvases and prints you will be kept fully informed on progress and timescales. For albums you will sign off the design before it goes to print.

That’s all for now…

That’s pretty much it for now! I’ll be in touch closer to the wedding but like I said, keep in touch. Keep me updated with your wedding day plans and follow me on social media to keep updated with my current work. Oh and if you have a pre-wedding shoot don’t forget to take advantage of this practice run – we can get to know each other better.

I can’t wait to share and capture your amazing big day!
